Alex thought they met in New York, but that’s actually where he met Mark Agudo (Ellen’s best friend) who kept planting seeds about meeting his single friend, Ellen. While in San Francisco, Mark would subtly tell Ellen about this cute guy, Alex, who was moving to SF soon. Seemed like the perfect setup, right?

Well, Ellen and Alex finally met at Bamboo Hut, a tiki themed bar that Ellen and her PwC friends frequently visited; however, this long awaited meet cute turned into nothing. Alex and Ellen hugged, said hellos, and carried on with their lives to Mark’s disappointment.

A year goes by without them seeing each other, but Ellen and Alex finally found an opportunity to connect again… not through their mutual friends, but by the true SF approach - a dating app! (they still give Mark credit through.) Ellen immediately fell in love with Alex’s charm, intelligence, and humor; while Alex fell in love with Ellen’s warmth, independence, and fit dance bod.

They carried their love to Dallas where they bought a beautiful home and adopted two fur babies, Kuma and Pippin. On January 19, 2020, Alex planned a wonderful trip to Fredericksburg, TX for wine tasting just as they frequently did together in Sonoma. The day ended with a hike up Enchanted Rock where Alex popped the question under the night sky and twinkling stars.
